We are based at 20, Ambala Doshi Marg. Most of the older folks around here still call it Hamam Street. It is right in the Fort area, which is full of old buildings and narrow alleys. A M I Machine Tools is the name on our signboard. Being in Fort means we are surrounded by a lot of history and tradition. The streets are paved with old stones and it gets very crowded during business hours. Our office at number 20 is a straightforward place. We don't have a lot of modern frills. We have our desks, our chairs, and the work that needs to be done. A M I Machine Tools is just the name we’ve always used. The morning starts with the sound of shutters opening all along Ambala Doshi Marg. We get our tea from the same guy every day. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a big corporate mission or anything fancy to say. We just show up at Hamam Street and put in the hours. The building is old and sometimes the plumbing acts up, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. There is a certain energy in Fort that you don't find in the newer parts of Mumbai. We are just part of the daily grind here. We keep our records in order and make sure everything is handled properly. It’s a plain and simple life at 20 Ambala Doshi Marg.
