You can find us over on S.T.Tope Marg, near the Sion P.O in the Chunabhatti area. The name is a mouthful: Institute For Design Of Electrical Measuring Instruments. Most of us just call it the institute. It’s an older building, and you can tell it’s seen a lot of years. The halls are a bit wide and the ceilings are high. It feels a bit like stepping back in time compared to the newer parts of Mumbai. We spend our time with various instruments and designs. It’s a technical place, so there’s a lot of quiet concentration going on. Chunabhatti is a busy junction, but once you get onto S.T.Tope Marg, things settle down a little bit. We have a lot of equipment tucked away in different rooms. Some of it looks brand new, while other bits have been around as long as the building. We don’t really have a big marketing department or anything. People who need to find us usually know where we are. It’s just a place where things are measured and designed. We drink a lot of tea and look at a lot of charts. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it at this Sion address for quite a while. There’s no fancy lobby here, just people doing their jobs with tools and paper. We just get on with it every morning. It works for us.
