Welcome Chinese Food

Welcome Chinese Food is located over in Powai, specifically on 3rd Lane in the Darukhana area. It’s a small kitchen mostly, where we cook up noodles and rice dishes. The neighborhood is a bit industrial and busy, so we get a lot of workers and people living close by coming in. We’ve got the big woks going most of the afternoon and night. The sound of the flames is pretty constant. We don't have much of a dining area, just a few benches if you want to eat right there. Most people just order and wait outside for their bag of food. We use a lot of garlic and ginger, you can smell it from down the lane. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like the energy of 3rd Lane. We’ve been here long enough that we recognize the faces of our regulars. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients by the end of the night if it’s been a crazy shift. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just put the menu up on the wall. It’s basic food for when you’re hungry and want something hot. We try to get the orders out quickly so nobody is waiting too long in the heat. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. We aren't trying to win any awards, we just want to cook. We enjoy the rush of a busy dinner time.
