Virendra Traders

If you walk down Maulana Azad Road in Byculla, you will find us at number 181. We are right across from the Union Bank. It is a very busy part of Mumbai. There is always the sound of traffic and people shouting. Our shop, Virendra Traders, has been here for a long time. It’s a small space, but we have managed to pack it full of everything we sell. Most of the time, the shelves are stacked right up to the ceiling. We deal with various hardware and trade supplies. It can be hard to find things sometimes if you don't know where to look, but we know exactly where every bolt and tool is kept. We don't have a website or a fancy catalog. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to us for decades. They know they can just walk in and ask for what they need. Sometimes we sit on the wooden stools and talk about the neighborhood while we wait for the next delivery. The shop gets a bit dark in the back, and the fans overhead are quite old, but they keep the air moving. Byculla is a tough place to navigate with a vehicle, so most people just walk over. We see the same faces every day. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and start the day.
