You can find Vijay Aluminium & Glass over in Goregaon West, specifically in Shahu Colony on Lane No. 9, near Karve Nagar 1. It is a small corner of the world where we spend our time working with glass and metal frames. Glass is a tricky thing to handle. You have to be very careful or it breaks and then you have a mess to clean up. We spend our days cutting sheets to the right size and fitting them into aluminium tracks. The shop is usually full of off-cuts and pieces of rubber gasket. It is not the cleanest place because there is always some drilling or sawing going on. People from the colony come by when they have a broken window or when they want to put up a new bathroom cabin. We go to their houses, take the measurements, and then come back here to do the actual work. Sometimes the measurements are slightly off and we have to trim things down on the spot. It is just part of the job. We don't have a big corporate team. It is just a few of us who know how to handle a glass cutter and a drill. Working in Karve Nagar is nice because the neighbors know us. We have been here a while and we just keep doing what we know best. It is simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning to night.
