About Fakhri Aluminum & Glass Works – Building & Construction Material in Mumbai
I spend most of my day at number 120 on Bapu Khote Street. It is a busy spot in the cross lane where we have been doing aluminum and glass stuff for a long time. You can hear the sounds of saws cutting through metal and glass panels being moved around. It gets pretty crowded in here when a big shipment of glass arrives. We mostly just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the frames fit where they are supposed to go. People from around the neighborhood drop by to ask about window repairs or getting a new mirror cut for their bathroom. The shop isn't fancy at all. We have tools scattered on the benches and bits of aluminum scraps in the corners. Sometimes the dust from the cutting gets everywhere, so we are always sweeping. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside, but it’s what we do. We just stay busy with whatever comes in through the door. The lane outside is always full of people and carts, so getting materials in and out can be a bit of a headache. We handle a lot of different glass types, some thick and some thin. Mostly, it’s just about keeping the machines running and making sure the work is finished when we said it would be. No one here wears a suit; we just get our hands dirty and keep moving.
