Standard Glass&Decorative Laminates

Our shop, Standard Glass&Decorative Laminates, sits right on S.V. Road in Bandra West. Most people know us because we’re right next to Lucky Restaurant. You can usually smell the biryani from next door while we’re working. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always a lot of honking and people walking by. Inside, it’s a bit of a squeeze. We have sheets of glass leaning against the walls and racks of decorative laminates everywhere. You have to be careful where you walk so you don't bump into anything sharp. It’s a dusty job, honestly. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and cutting to size. The glass can be heavy and tricky to move, especially when the sidewalk outside is crowded. We’ve been here at 266 S.V. Road for a while now. The building is older, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we're too busy to worry about that. Customers come in with their measurements on scraps of paper. We talk through what they need and show them the different patterns we have in stock. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a working shop where we get our hands dirty. We usually have a fan going to keep the air moving. It’s just a normal day of dealing with glass and making sure the orders are ready for pickup.
