If you know the Fort area, you know how these old buildings are. Bombay Glasswool Manufacturing Co is tucked away in Pantaky House on the second floor. It is right there on Kamla Cross Road 8. We have been in this spot for a long time, back when the streets felt a bit wider and things were not quite so rushed. Working with glasswool isn't exactly the cleanest job, but it is what we do here. The office is one of those classic Fort spaces with high ceilings and old windows. You have to walk up the stairs since the lift is sometimes temperamental. It is not a shiny showroom. It is more of a place where we handle the paperwork and the manufacturing side of things. Sometimes the sea breeze reaches us, but mostly it is just the sounds of the city coming up from the street. Most people find us because they have known us for decades. We do not really change much about how we run things. It is just about getting the glasswool out to the people who need it. It can get a bit dusty, so we try to keep things organized as best as we can. Being in Pantaky House feels like being part of the old history of the city. We are just regular folks trying to do a decent job every day. If you are coming by, look for the sign on the second floor.
