Our office is over in the Adamji Building, right in the heart of the Masjid area. It’s a busy spot, always crowded with people and trucks moving goods around the clock. We are up on the fifth floor at room 505. The building itself is quite old and has that classic Mumbai feel where everything is a bit cramped but somehow functions. We’ve been running Velavan Impex Pvt. Ltd. from here for years, dealing with all the stuff that comes through the ports. It’s loud outside most of the time because of the market, and finding parking nearby is basically impossible. We spend our hours mostly talking to suppliers and checking on shipments. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just keep going. It’s not a fancy place with modern furniture or anything. We have some desks, old files, and a lot of tea being made. People come and go, asking about prices or delivery dates. We try to be straightforward with everyone. It gets hot in the summer months, especially in these older structures, but the sea breeze hits the building sometimes. We mostly handle imports and exports for local businesses and some bigger ones too. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the papers are signed and the cargo is moving. We don’t really do big advertising; people just find us through word of mouth or by knowing the area. We just stick to what we know.
