Vandana Parab

We are based out of Shiv Adarsh Chawl over in Kailash Nagar. If you have ever been to Kokni Pada in Dahisar East, you know it is a tight-knit kind of place. Living and working here means you know everyone on the block. It is not a fancy glass building or anything like that. It is just a small space where we get things done. I started this because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to home. The room is a bit cramped sometimes with all the stuff we have to keep track of, but we make it work. Most of our neighbors are also doing their own small businesses, so there is always a bit of talk and movement around the chawl. It can get pretty hot in the summers, but the fan keeps us going. I do not believe in having a lot of rules or a strict corporate vibe. We just wake up, start working, and finish when the work is done. Sometimes that is early, sometimes it is really late at night. Mumbai-68 is our home, and we like it here. There is a certain rhythm to life in the chawl that you do not get anywhere else. We handle everything ourselves, from the small cleaning bits to the actual work. It is honest and it is ours. We do not have a big marketing budget or a website with pretty pictures. We just have our names and this address. That is enough for us.
