Vandana General Store

Vandana General Store is tucked away in Juhu West, specifically at Versova 36/2. It is a simple place where we spend most of our hours. The street outside is usually busy with people walking towards the main road or heading back home. We have a lot of items packed into the shelves, sometimes so much that it’s hard to find a clear spot on the counter. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a little when it’s on the highest setting, but it keeps the air moving. In Versova, the salt air from the sea sometimes makes the metal parts of the shop a bit rusty. We have to wipe down the glass jars every morning because they get sticky. There is no big sign or anything flashy, just the name of the shop. We know most of the people who pass by because they live in the nearby buildings. The floor is made of old tiles that have a few cracks here and there. We don't really change much around here. It’s been the same for quite a long time. When the sun goes down, the street lights flicker on and we start thinking about closing for the night. We handle things one by one, making sure the inventory is okay. It’s just a regular general store in a regular neighborhood. Nothing more to it than that, really. It stays busy enough for us.
