Vaishali Caterers

Our kitchen is tucked away in Accord Apartment, right in the middle of Dhanukard Wadi. If you know Kandivili West, you probably know where the Ganpati Visarjan Talao is; we are just a short walk from there. Vaishali Caterers is really just a small operation that grew out of a love for cooking for family and neighbors. We spend most of our mornings chopping vegetables and getting the big pots ready. It’s usually pretty loud with the clatter of pans and everyone talking over each other. The apartment at A 702 gets quite warm when the stoves are going, but that’s where the magic happens. A big corporate office with a receptionist isn't something we have. Usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone with flour on our hands. Living and working so close to the talao means we see the crowds during the festivals, which is always a busy time for us too. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a batch of spices isn't right, we start over. It’s not about being the biggest name in Kandivili, just about making sure the food that leaves our door is something we’d eat ourselves. Sometimes we run late because of the traffic on the way to a delivery, but we always make it. It’s a lot of hard work and late nights, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
