V. P. Traders

If you climb up to the fourth floor of Chedda Bhuvan on Surat Street, you’ll find our office. It’s room 409. It isn’t the easiest walk up if the lift is acting funny, which happens sometimes. Surat Street is always loud and crowded with people moving boxes and shouting to be heard over the traffic. We’ve been trading from here for a while. We handle all sorts of goods, whatever the market needs. Some days we are dealing with bulk orders and other days it is just small stuff. The office is usually a bit messy with ledgers and samples lying around. We aren't big on decorations. It's a practical space for practical people. I think some people expect a trader’s office to look more modern, but we like it this way. It feels real. We know the other shop owners in the building and usually share a quick hello in the hallway. Business isn't always smooth. Prices go up and down and sometimes a shipment is late. We just try to keep our word. If we say we have something, we try our best to get it there. My brother and I run things mostly. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. We just answer the phone, write down the orders, and make sure the accounts are clear. It is just how we do things here on the fourth floor of this building.
