Universal Power Systems

We are based on the first floor of the Modi Building. It is on K.A. Subramaniam Road. You can’t really miss the S.I.E.S. School which is right near us. Being in Matunga is great because there is always something going on in the streets. Universal Power Systems is mostly about batteries and backup units. These items are quite heavy so moving them up to the first floor is a good workout for us. We do not have an elevator that works all the time so we mostly use the stairs. The office has big windows but they usually stay shut because of the noise from the street. We started this because there was a clear need for reliable power around this neighborhood. We are not a huge company with a board of directors or anything. It is just a few of us who understand how these power systems work. Usually, we are out on sites or testing units in the back room. The desks are always a bit cluttered with various cables and testing tools. We get a lot of students passing by from the school which makes the whole area feel very lively. Sometimes it is hard to hear the phone when the school bell rings. We have been here long enough that most of the local shopkeepers recognize us. We just take things as they come. If a battery fails or someone needs a new UPS, they give us a call or climb the stairs. (252 words)
