Unique Enterprises

Unique Enterprises is situated at 6 Narayan Dhuru Street, in the Topkhana Building Number 155. We are on the ground floor, which is lucky because this street in Mumbai is always incredibly crowded. You can barely move some days with all the handcarts and people rushing past. Our shop isn't very big, but we make the most of the space we have. The walls are lined with shelves all the way to the ceiling. We use a tall ladder to reach the stuff at the top, and it’s a bit wobbly. It’s a bit dark inside since the buildings are so close together, so we keep the lights on even during the day. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other shopkeepers on the block. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that click while they spin. We handle the orders as they come in, writing things down in big ledgers or on scraps of paper. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. You won't find any polished floors or glass partitions here. It’s just a ground-floor space filled with stock and the smell of the city outside. We take our lunch breaks right at the desk usually. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business in a very busy part of town.
