Ujawala Sarees Machinery Centre

Our place is called Ujawala Sarees Machinery Centre. We are located at number 2 in Jogeshwari East. It’s a small shop that focuses on the machinery used for making and finishing sarees. Jogeshwari East is a busy residential and commercial mix, so there’s always a lot of movement around us. We aren't a big factory or anything, just a local center where people can come to look at equipment. Most of our days are spent talking to small-scale weavers or people running their own boutique setups. We’ve got different parts and machines squeezed into the space we have. It’s a bit cramped, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. We just rely on the fact that we've been here and people in the trade know where to find us. Sometimes we have to explain how a certain machine works or help someone fix an old one they’ve been using for years. It’s a lot of talking and showing people things. We open up in the morning and usually stay until the last customer leaves. It’s just us running the show, handling the sales and the lifting ourselves. It’s a steady job and we like being part of the local textile community. There is always some dust from the fabric in the air, but we don't mind it much anymore.
