Tijos Dance Academy

We are over in Goregaon East, specifically around the Bodakdev area. It is a busy part of town, so there is always something happening outside on the street. The space we have at Tijos Dance Academy is mostly open floor, which we need for all the moving around. It is not a huge place, but it has enough room for everyone to get through the routines. We have some mirrors on the walls and a floor that we try to keep clean, though it gets scuffed up pretty fast with all the shoes. The sound system is nothing fancy, just some basic speakers that we plug a phone into. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we turn the music up too loud in the evenings, so we try to be careful about that. There is a small corner where people can leave their bags and shoes when they arrive. It gets a bit crowded when one group is leaving and another is arriving. We spend a lot of time just practicing and going over the same steps until they are right. It is hard work and everyone gets sweaty, especially in the humid months. We usually have a few fans going, but they do not do much when the room is full of people. People who come here are just regular folks from around Goregaon. We do not have a big front desk or any uniforms. It is just a relaxed atmosphere.
