Konjaku Shin National School Of Karate India

Our karate school is located in Shop Number 11 of the Sai Sadan CHS. It is in Malwani, Malad West, specifically near Gate Number 1. If you walk down RSC 14 you will probably hear us before you see us. There is always someone shouting their kiai or the sound of feet hitting the mats. The shop is not very big so we have to be careful with how many people are training at one time. We have thick blue and red mats covering the entire floor and a few mirrors on the walls so the students can see their form. It gets very sweaty in here during the evening sessions especially when the humidity in Mumbai is high. We have a small bench for parents to sit and watch their kids practice but it usually fills up fast. Most of the equipment is just basic punching pads and some old weights in the corner. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floor because the dust from the street comes in every time the door opens. It is a simple place where people come to learn karate and get some exercise. We do not have any fancy locker rooms or a gym, just the mats and our uniforms. It is hard work but the kids seem to enjoy the discipline of it all. We finish the classes by cleaning up and getting ready for the next day.
