Kodakan Karate School

Kodakan Karate School is located at C, 17/A in the Kailash Esplanade building on LBS Marg. Being in Ghatkopar West, it's a spot that’s easy for people to find. The school is basically a large hall that we have cleared out for training. We have the mats laid out on the floor and some basic equipment along the walls. Most of the action happens in the late afternoons and evenings when students finish their regular school or work. You can hear the sounds of kihon and sparring from the hallway sometimes. It is a place for hard work and sweat, not for lounging around. We teach the basic stances, punches, and kicks. Some students are just starting their white belt journey while others have been coming for years. The instructors are focused on the movements and making sure everyone is doing the techniques correctly. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t have air conditioning or fancy locker rooms. There’s a place to change and a spot to leave your shoes at the door. People come here because they want to learn karate in a straightforward way. We follow the traditional drills and sometimes have grading sessions where everyone gets a bit nervous. It’s just a local dojo where people from the neighborhood come to get some exercise and learn a bit of discipline through martial arts.
