The area outside in the compound is always moving with people going to lunch or deliveries arriving for the nearby shops. Inside, we just focus on the instruments and the people trying to learn them. The lighting is a bit dim in some parts, and the air conditioning is usually running full blast to keep the equipment from getting too warm in the Mumbai heat. It’s a place where you might see someone carrying a guitar case through the halls at odd hours of the evening. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk; we just make sure the rooms are available and the equipment is plugged in and working.
