The New India Assurance Co

Our place is located over at Fort on the Outer Ring Road. We are on the ground floor of New India Bhavan, which is an old building with a lot of character. You can tell it has been standing for a long time just by looking at the walls and the high ceilings. Being right at 34/38 means we get a lot of people walking in because it is a very central spot in the city. The office is usually filled with the sound of shuffling papers and people talking about their policies. It can feel a bit old-fashioned compared to some of the new glass offices in other parts of Mumbai, but we like it that way. We have big wooden desks and files stacked up in cabinets that have probably been here longer than I have. The ground floor is always busy with people coming and going from the street. You can hear the city traffic outside all day long. We deal with insurance stuff mostly, which means a lot of checking details and making sure all the forms are filled out correctly. It’s a lot of routine work but it is important for the folks who come to us. The light in the building is a bit dim in some corners but the history of the place makes it special. We just show up, do the paperwork, and help whoever walks through those big doors.
