Our office for Tata Aia Life Insurance Co Ltd is up on the 14th Floor of 1 Peninsula Business Park. It is situated on Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel, which is a very busy part of Mumbai. Being on the 14th floor means we get a decent view of the city, but mostly we are just looking at our computer screens or stacks of policy documents. Maharashtra is a big place, and dealing with life insurance means we see a lot of different people’s names and stories every day. The elevators in this building are usually fast, but during the morning rush, it can take a while to actually get up to the office. Lower Parel is always moving, and the noise from Senapati Bapat Marg somehow reaches us even all the way up here. We spend our hours going through records, making sure the numbers add up, and talking to people about their plans. It’s a lot of paperwork and administrative stuff that keeps us occupied from morning until evening. The office gets a bit chilly because of the central air conditioning, so most of us keep a sweater at our desks. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place where insurance work happens. Mumbai-400 013 is our little corner of the world, and we have been at this location for quite a bit of time now, watching the skyline change around the park.
