Up on the 13th floor of Lodha Excelus, things stay pretty busy. We are located in the Apollo Mills Compound on N M Joshi Marg. It’s a high-rise environment, so there is always the sound of elevators and the hum of the air conditioning. From this high up, you get a bit of a view of the city, but most of us are too occupied with the screens in front of us to notice. We handle insurance here at Hdfc Standrard Life Insurance Co Ltd. The office is organized with rows of desks and a lot of people talking. It’s the kind of place where there are always meetings happening in small glass rooms. You see a lot of lanyards and coffee cups around. The compound itself is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, but once you find the right building, it’s fine. We deal with a lot of paperwork and digital files every single day. It can be quite loud when everyone is on the phone at the same time. There isn't much in the way of personal touches, just the standard office setup. People are usually focused on their tasks or rushing to get to the next floor. It’s a very Mumbai way of working—fast and constant. We don't have much time for standing around. When the workday ends, everyone heads down to the street to find their way home through the traffic on N M Joshi Marg.
