Life Insurance Corporation Of India

We work on the 5th floor of the Yogakshema building, specifically in the West Wing. This is where the HRD-OD department for the Life Insurance Corporation of India is based. It’s a big, old building that everyone knows. Even though we are part of a huge organization, our daily life is mostly about managing people and internal stuff. The elevators are always busy, and there are people constantly walking through the halls. Our desks are covered in files, and we spend a lot of time on the internal phones or in small meetings. It’s a very established place. You can feel the history of the company in the walls and the way things are done. We have a routine that doesn't change much. We aren't the ones out selling policies; we are the ones in the back making sure the organization keeps running. It’s a lot of administrative work and coordinating with other departments. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, and other times it doesn't work at all, but we just get on with it. We drink tea at the same time every day and talk about the weekend. It’s a steady, reliable kind of job. Being in the Central Office means we see a lot of what goes on across the whole country, even if we’re just in our one wing. It keeps us occupied from morning until evening every weekday.
