Maruti Investments

Maruti Investments is based in Deonar Colony. It’s a residential area, so it’s much quieter than the main roads. We chose this location because it’s easy for people in the neighborhood to drop by. Our office isn’t anything special to look at. We have a couple of old desks, some plastic chairs, and a lot of steel cupboards for our files. We spend our time looking at investment options and talking to people about their money. People come in with their passbooks and documents, and we sit down to figure things out. There’s a lot of trust involved, as we’ve known many of these families for years. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background. In the afternoons, the colony gets very still, and you can hear the birds outside. We take a long lunch break and sometimes a nap if it’s slow. It’s a very relaxed way of working. We don't use much fancy technology, mostly just a calculator and some ledgers. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to chat, and we don't mind. It’s a community feeling here in Deonar. We’ve seen the kids grow up and start their own accounts. We don't have a big sign or anything, just a small board. It’s a steady, simple business that we’ve been running for a long time. We plan to stay here as long as we can. It is a quiet life and that suits us fine.
