We've been up here on the second floor on Old Madars Road for a while now. It’s a busy spot in Khar, and we’re usually right in the thick of it. Thapa Catering started out small, just a few of us wanting to make decent food for the neighborhood. It gets pretty loud in the kitchen when the lunch rush starts. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s mostly just stoves, big pots, and a lot of steam. Sometimes the stairs feel a bit steep after a long shift, but that's just how it is. We try to keep things simple. If the rice is cooked right and the spices smell good, we’re happy. Most days, we are just chopping vegetables or checking on the orders that need to go out. People around here know where to find us if they need a meal for a gathering. We don’t really do much advertising. It’s mostly just word of mouth from people who’ve eaten our stuff before. The building is old, and it has its quirks, but it works for us. We've seen a lot of changes in Khar over the years, yet we’re still here doing the same thing every morning. It’s hard work, and your back hurts by the end of the day, but seeing a clean plate makes it okay. We just keep our heads down and cook. No big secrets or special tricks, just normal food for normal people. We just keep going.
