Swing 2 Salsa

Swing 2 Salsa is tucked away in Jankalyan Nagar in Malad West. We are on Marve Road 2. It’s a lively part of Mumbai, though it can get quite loud with all the traffic and people outside. Our space is basically just one big room with mirrors and a wooden floor. It’s not a professional ballroom, just a place where we come together to move. The floor has some scuff marks from all the shoes over the years. We keep a fan going because it gets really warm once everyone starts dancing. Sometimes the music from the speakers sounds a bit fuzzy if we turn it up too loud. We don't have a fancy entrance or a lounge. You just walk in, change your shoes, and get started. I started this because I just loved the music and wanted a place to share it. People from all over Malad come by after they finish work. We usually have some water bottles sitting in the corner and a few chairs for when people need a break. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We don't do big competitions or anything like that. It’s just about getting the steps right and having a bit of a laugh when we mess up. The neighborhood is friendly and we’ve become a bit of a regular fixture on this part of Marve Road. It’s just a simple, local dance spot.
