Being an estate agent in Ghatkopar East is mostly about walking around and talking to people. Our office is right here in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time looking at different flats and shops that are up for rent or sale. It’s a busy area and everyone seems to be looking for a place. We know most of the building watchmen and the local landlords around Ghatkopar East. People walk in off the street asking about prices or looking for a small room. We keep a lot of keys in the drawer and sometimes we forget which one belongs where. It’s not a big company with shiny brochures. We just write things down in a notebook and show people what’s available. Some days we are out in the sun all afternoon showing houses, and other days we just sit in the office waiting for the phone. It gets loud outside with the traffic, but we are used to it. Buying or renting a place is a big headache for most people, so we just try to make it a bit simpler by knowing who is moving out and who is moving in. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years. New buildings go up and old ones get renovated. We stay busy enough just keeping track of everything happening on these few streets. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions or to see what the market is like lately. We don’t use any complicated software, just our phones and our knowledge.
