Our place is located at 552 on 8th Lane. If you know Kalbadevi, you know how tight these lanes can get. We are right near the Ganesh Temple on Old Madras Road. It’s a landmark everyone around here uses to give directions. The bell rings from the temple quite often and you can hear it inside the shop. It is a bit of a comforting sound during a long day. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. The building is old and has its quirks like the creaky floorboards and the way the light hits the back corner in the late afternoon. Kalbadevi is a whirlwind of people and carts and deliveries. We spend a lot of time just managing the space we have. There isn't much room for extras. We keep things simple. Usually, one of us is out getting tea from the stall at the corner while the other stays back. The air gets a bit dusty with all the movement outside but we keep the fans going. It’s a practical way of living. We don't really do much in the way of decoration. The stock and the registers are what matter. It's just Sushil here, doing the daily work without any fuss. People come in and out, the temple stays busy, and we just keep the doors open through it all. It is just a regular life in a busy lane.
