Sundaram Kirana Stores

Our kirana store is located in Bhim Nagar, specifically at Rahewasi Sandh in Ghatkopar East. We are right on the 1st Main Road, directly opposite Yashdhara Niwas. This is a very local neighborhood, and our shop is pretty much what you would expect from a corner grocery. We have sacks of grains sitting on the floor and shelves packed with soaps, biscuits, and tea leaves. It gets very busy in the mornings when everyone is trying to get their milk and bread before heading to work. We don't have a lot of space, so things are stacked high. The street outside is usually full of people walking to the station or kids heading to school. Being opposite Yashdhara Niwas makes it easy for the people living there to just pop across the road when they run out of salt or sugar. We spend most of our day weighing out items and chatting with the regulars who have been coming here for years. It’s a loud, lively place with a lot of dust from the main road. We don't have a fancy cooling system, just a few fans that hum all day long. In the evenings, the lights from the other shops come on and the whole of Bhim Nagar feels very crowded but friendly. We keep the shop open late because there is always someone who forgot something for dinner. It’s hard work being on our feet all day, but it’s just how we run things here.
