Sun Plast

Our place is B-119 in the Laram Centre, which is right on S.V. Road in Andheri West. If you’ve ever been on S.V. Road, you know how loud and busy it is with all the traffic and people. We’re right in the middle of it all. The Laram Centre is an older building, and our unit is packed to the ceiling with plastic goods and raw materials. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get around sometimes. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. The windows are usually shut to keep out the noise and the fumes from the street, so it can get pretty warm inside. We have a few fans going all day to keep the air moving. Our work is mostly about handling orders and checking the items we have. It’s a lot of manual counting and bagging. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been here forever. We know where every single item is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. There’s a small corner where we keep the kettle for making tea. Most of our day is spent dealing with the logistics of getting things delivered through the Andheri traffic. It’s a constant battle with the clock. We aren't doing anything fancy or high-tech here at Sun Plast. It’s just steady, everyday work in a busy part of Mumbai.
