Sukun Agencies is tucked away inside Ashish Udyog Bhavan on Liberty Garden Road in Malad West. Being in Malad means we are used to the narrow, crowded streets and the constant buzz of the neighborhood shops. Our space is located on the fourth floor, and it’s usually filled with stacks of old paperwork and various product samples that have piled up over the years. We have been operating from this particular building for quite a while now. It’s a typical Mumbai commercial building where everyone knows everyone else’s business and you see the same faces every day. We handle a lot of different things as an agency, mostly connecting local people with the specific products they need for their small shops or factories. It’s definitely not the kind of place with a fancy reception desk or a glass entrance. You walk in, and you’ll likely see someone on the phone or checking a ledger in the corner. The lift in the building sometimes has a mind of its own, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we would like. On the hot summer days, the old ceiling fans just move the warm air around, but we have all gotten used to it. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to manage our image. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a decade or heard about us from a neighbor. We just try to keep things moving along, answer the calls, and make sure the orders get delivered.
