Sukhija Equipment Corporation

You can find us over at the Sun Mill Compound in Lower Parel. We are in the Air Industrial Estate at number 68, in the Darjiwala Building. This part of Mumbai has become very fancy with all the new malls and offices, but our compound still feels like the old days. Sukhija Equipment Corporation is based here and we spend our days surrounded by all kinds of heavy equipment. The space is quite large but it is full of machines and crates. We have to be careful where we walk so we don't trip over anything. It is a working warehouse, so it is often dusty and there is always a bit of a smell of oil and metal. We have a small area with a couple of old desks where we do the billing and take calls. Most of the time we are moving things around or checking the inventory. It is physical work and we are often tired by the time the day ends. We don't have any promotional brochures or big advertisements. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they have been dealing with us for years. The lane leading to the building is quite narrow, so getting big trucks in and out is always a bit of a struggle. We just deal with it and keep the business moving forward. It is not a glamorous job, but it is honest work and we have been doing it for a long time.
