Subkuch Food Plaza

Down in Malad West, specifically over at Kasturi Park on Link Road, you’ll find Subkuch Food Plaza. The name is pretty straightforward because we try to have a little bit of everything. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the Link Road always has plenty of rickshaws buzzing by. The place itself is nothing to look at from the outside, just a regular storefront with some lights. Inside, it’s mostly just us trying to keep the kitchen running and making sure the tables aren't sticky. It gets really busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work. You can hear the traffic and the horns honking the whole time. We don’t have a fancy menu with photos or anything. We just write down what we have and that’s it. Sometimes we run out of things and people get a bit annoyed, but that’s just how it goes when you’re small. The staff is mostly guys from the neighborhood who needed a job. We aren't trained professionals, we just learned as we went along. Link Road is always changing, with new buildings coming up all the time. Kasturi Park used to be quieter, but now it’s always moving. We just stay here in our corner and keep the stove going. It’s a lot of work and our feet usually hurt by the end of the night.
