Status Fine Dine

Down on Triveni Road in Mumbai, you’ll find us. Status Fine Dine might sound like a big name, but we’re just a regular restaurant trying to do things right. We’ve been on this road for a while and have seen the buildings around us change. The dining room has plenty of tables and we spend a lot of time making sure the cloths are straight and the floors are mopped. It gets busy in the evenings when families come out. You can hear the clinking of forks and the sound of people talking over their meals. The kitchen is always a bit of a whirlwind, with chefs shouting orders and pans hitting the stove. We don't use any fancy tricks, just cooking the food we know how to make. Triveni Road is a good spot because there’s always someone walking by. Sometimes people come in just to see the menu and then come back later with their friends. We have our regulars who always sit at the same table near the window. We try to keep things steady even when it gets hectic. Running a place like this takes a lot of hours, but we've gotten used to the long days. It’s just what we do. No big story behind it, just a lot of hard work on a busy Mumbai street. We like seeing the room full and people leaving happy. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling sound if it’s been on too long, so we have to give it a break. The menu covers are a bit frayed at the edges from so many people flipping through them. We just focus on the cooking and making sure the water glasses stay full.
