We have our space at R23-11C near the Colaba Po. Colaba is an old part of the city and you can really feel that history in the buildings. Our place is in one of those structures with very high ceilings and thick stone walls. They stay pretty cool even when the summer heat is bad outside. Sri Sunilkumar is the name we use for our business in this room. It is not a very large area. We have a lot of files and old papers stacked up on metal racks against the walls. The wooden floorboards make a creaking sound whenever you walk across them. Outside, the street is always full of life. Being near the post office means there are always people moving about with letters and parcels. The sounds of the city are constant here. You hear taxis honking and people talking loudly on the sidewalk. We have one small window that lets in a little bit of the sea breeze on good days. For lunch, we usually just go to the small food joints down the lane. The tea around here is very good, especially from the man on the corner. We don’t have a reception desk or anything formal. People just walk in when they need us. It is a bit messy sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. The roof had some leaks last year, but we finally got it fixed. (247 words)
