Sri Maha Laxmi Fast Food

Down here in Udyam Nagar, specifically around Swapnanagari in Malad West, things move pretty fast. That’s why we opened Sri Maha Laxmi Fast Food. It’s a small kitchen, mostly meant for people who are in a hurry. We don’t have much in the way of seating, maybe just a few stools and a counter, but most people just grab their food and head home or back to their shop. The oil is always hot, and the smell of spices usually fills the street outside. We go through a lot of flour and vegetables every single day. Some days are better than others, especially when the weather is nice and people are out walking. We’ve had some issues with the plumbing in the back, but we fixed it ourselves last month. It’s that kind of place. We don’t have a manager in a suit; it’s just us in our aprons doing the cooking. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone in this neighborhood works hard for their money. The menu is written on a chalkboard that we wipe down every now and then. Sometimes we forget to update the prices on there, but we tell people before they order. It’s a busy life here in Malad, and we’re just a small part of it. We stay open late most nights because that’s when the second shift workers come by. It’s a simple setup, but it works for us and the people around here.
