Our office and warehouse are at Unit No. 23 and 24 in the Sumtinath Industrial Premises. This is off Chincholi Bunder Road in the Malad West area, specifically near Mind Space. The building is one of those typical industrial estates where you have all sorts of businesses working side by side. There is a large freight elevator that we use for moving stock, but it’s quite old and sometimes gets stuck between floors. The units themselves have high ceilings, which helps with storage, but it makes the place hard to cool down when it’s hot outside. We have a lot of houseware items boxed up and stacked on heavy-duty racks. The floors are grey stone and they get dusty pretty fast no matter how much we sweep. Outside on Chincholi Bunder Road, the traffic is almost always at a standstill, so we have to plan our deliveries very early in the morning. The security guards at the main gate are strict about who comes in, which is good I suppose. We have a small partitioned area where the computers are kept for doing the billing and paperwork. It’s a busy environment with people always moving boxes and checking inventory. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where all the work gets done and we’ve been here for quite a while now. We usually wrap things up by seven and head into the Malad traffic.
