Simnim Food Zone

We are located over at Block No 173 on Shahid Bhagat Singh road. The address says Andheri East but also mentions Undri Road in Kondhwa, which confuses people sometimes. We just tell them to look for the sign. Simnim Food Zone is a busy little corner. We have a lot of different things going on at once. The stove is always on. We have a couple of guys who handle the orders. It gets very loud when everyone is talking at the same time. We don't have much of a seating area, so people mostly stand around or take things home. The pavement outside is usually crowded. We try to keep the area clean but it's tough with so many people. We use a lot of plastic containers. They are piled up in the back. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes and we have to use candles. It makes the place look different. We aren't professional chefs or anything. We just learned by doing it every day for years. The spices get in your eyes sometimes when we are grinding them. It’s just part of the job. We like the neighborhood. People are friendly enough. We just keep our heads down and keep the food moving. The delivery scooters are always parked out front. They block the way a little bit. We have a small radio that only plays one station clearly. It’s mostly just news.
