Silver Planet

Silver Planet is tucked away in Geeta Nagar, right over in Colaba. If you know the Hanuman Mandir nearby, you can find us pretty easily at Ag 35 2/2. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, especially with the Navy Nagar folks moving around all day. The shop isn’t huge, but we have enough room for all the things we keep here. Most mornings start with cleaning the glass cases and making sure everything looks okay before the first person walks in. We get a lot of regulars who live in the neighborhood. Some come in just to chat or see what’s new on the shelves. Being in Colaba, there is always some noise from the traffic and the wind from the sea nearby. It gets humid, so the door usually stays open to catch a breeze. We have been in this spot for a good amount of time now. The street is narrow, and sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck, which makes for a lot of shouting. We don’t mind it much. It is just how things go in Mumbai. We handle silver items and other small pieces. People come to us when they need something specific or a quick repair. It’s a small family-style operation. We don’t use big machines or anything loud. Just a workbench and our hands. It’s a steady life here near the temple. We like the community feel of Geeta Nagar.
