Moon Silver House

Zaveri Bazar is always humming with activity. Moon Silver House is right in the heart of it, specifically at Shop No. 80-B in Patwa Chawl. Being on the ground floor helps because there is always someone walking past the door. We are close to the Mumba Devi Temple, which means the bells and the crowds are a constant background to our day. If you look for Shetty Hotel, we are just opposite that. The area is filled with history and small shops tucked away in every corner. Our specific space includes shops 9 to 11A as well. It is a bit of a maze sometimes for people who aren't used to the chawl layout. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place organized. The walls are thick, and the ceiling is high, which is typical for these old Mumbai buildings. It gets very humid, so the fans are always on high speed. Dealing with the rain during monsoon is another story altogether; we have to be careful about the water coming in. We don't have any big marketing slogans or anything like that. We just show up, open the shutters, and get to work. It is a traditional way of doing things. The neighborhood is loud and colorful, and we are just one small part of it. Most of our day is spent right here on the ground floor. It is a busy life, but we have gotten used to the pace of the bazar.
