Shree Gajanan General Store

Shree Gajanan General Store is located right at Shop No 17 in Hari Niwas. If you know the L J Roa area in Dadar West, you probably passed by us near the IIT Main Gate. It’s a noisy part of town, but it’s where everything happens. We have been running this place for years. It’s a typical general store, so we carry a bit of everything. From soaps and shampoos to pulses and grains, the shelves are pretty packed. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific item immediately, but we usually know exactly where we tucked it away behind something else. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a regular shop with wooden counters and old fans. People stop by on their way home to pick up milk or maybe some matches. We handle the billing ourselves, usually just writing things down or using a small machine. The morning rush is the hardest part of the day, with everyone wanting their stuff at the same time. We try to keep up, but sometimes people have to wait a minute. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the shop stays mostly the same. We still sell the same brands of tea and the same local snacks. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to grow into a supermarket or anything like that. We just want to make sure the locals have a place to get their daily essentials without much fuss.
