Shree Devishwar Industries

We are up on the 6th floor of Building No 3. It is near the Indira Gandhi Institute in Goregaon East. Being on a higher floor means we have to use the lift for everything, which can be a pain when it’s busy or when we have heavy stuff. We do industrial work here. It’s an interesting spot because you can see a bit of the city from the windows, not that we spend much time looking out. The space is filled with benches and materials. It’s usually quite warm in here during the afternoons. Goregaon East is a fast place now, with a lot of new buildings going up, but our building is more of an established one. We have neighbors doing all kinds of manufacturing and design. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on whatever is on the order sheet for the day. There’s a lot of metal and components laying around. We try to keep a path clear so no one trips. It’s not a place where you’d wear a suit. We wear old clothes that can get dirty. Sometimes the institute students walk by or come asking questions. It’s a busy life, and we are just happy to have the work and a solid roof over our heads. We’ve been here a good while and know the shortcuts around the neighborhood. It is just another day at the shop for us.
