A/2 in Ram Rahim Udyog Nagar is where we spend most of our time. It’s tucked away near the Sainath Hotel in Sonapur. Bhandup West is a crowded place, and this industrial area is no different. The Dargah Cross Road always has something going on. Our space is filled with boxes and different items we keep in stock. It’s not a very big room, so things get stacked pretty high. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If you come by, you’ll probably find me at the small desk near the door. The fan overhead hums quite a bit. We get a lot of noise from the neighboring units, mostly metal hitting metal. Lunch usually comes from one of the small shops nearby, or we bring stuff from home. The monsoon season is the hardest because the road outside gets flooded easily. We have to make sure everything is off the floor. It’s just regular work for us. Shk Enterprises isn't a big name, but we stay busy enough. We don't do much advertising; mostly it’s just people who know we are here. We just try to get the orders right and keep things moving. The days are long, but that’s just how it is when you run your own small place in a city like Mumbai. We just keep at it day after day.
