Sheetal Estate Agency

So, Sheetal Estate Agency is basically just a small spot here in Dahisar, over at Gala No 4 in the Shankar Sukal Chawl. It’s not one of those big glass-fronted offices you see in the main city. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the files and folders we’ve collected over the years. We spend most of our time talking to people about where they want to live and what they can actually afford. Dahisar has changed a lot since we started out, with new buildings going up everywhere you look. Being in a chawl means we’re right in the middle of things, so we hear everything that’s going on. We handle a lot of the local paperwork and try to keep track of who is selling what or who needs a place to rent for a few months. It gets pretty loud outside during the festival seasons, and sometimes it’s hard to hear the person on the other end of the phone. We don't really have a marketing team or anything like that. People usually just walk in because they saw our board or a neighbor told them to come here. Dealing with property is mostly just a lot of waiting around for owners to show up with their keys or for the government offices to clear a document. It’s a lot of back and forth, walking through narrow lanes to show a room or a flat. It keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
