If you head down to Grant Road, specifically the Goldeval area, you’ll find our little shop at number 198. We are right in Parekh Nagar, just across from Gandhi Medical Store. Being on Sardar V Road means there is a lot of traffic and people passing by at all hours. Our shop is where we do all the stone polishing. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, everything has a thin layer of stone powder on it, including us. We spend our time taking rough stones and getting them smooth. It takes some patience and a lot of rubbing and grinding. People bring us all sorts of pieces, and we just do our best with what we’ve got. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful where we step so we don't trip over a slab of marble or a bucket of water. We’ve been here for years, and the medical store across the way is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. Sometimes we sit out front when the weather is okay, just to catch a break from the dust inside. It’s a simple business, really. We don’t have fancy brochures. We just show people what we can do with the stones they bring in, and usually, they are happy with the results. That is how Sharma Stone Polishing Co has always operated and we don't plan on changing.
