Shakun Bandhani

At Shakun Bandhani, we operate out of 3 Marshall Apartment at Kemps Corner. It’s an older building, the kind you find in this part of the city, with thick walls and a certain feel to it. Being in an apartment building instead of a mall makes it feel a bit more private. You have to come through the main entrance and head to our unit. It’s not a huge place, just a few rooms where we keep everything. Sometimes the hallway is a bit dark, but once you step inside our space, it’s quite different. We have things stacked on shelves and in cupboards wherever they fit. The windows look out onto the street, so we can see the traffic at Kemps Corner moving along. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always something to look at if you take a break. We’ve been in this apartment for years. The neighbors are mostly residential, so we try to keep the noise down and not be a bother. It’s a comfortable enough spot for us to do our work. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we handle the bandhani pieces. Usually, it’s just one or two of us here at a time. It’s a quiet way to run a business in such a busy part of town, but we like the pace of it here in Marshall Apartment. It suits the work we do every day.
