Menka Punjabi

We are located on the 5th floor of the Varun Building in Andheri West, specifically in room 503. It's a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more than it should. Menka Punjabi is mostly about traditional wear and custom work for our clients. Because we are up on a higher floor, we don’t get many random people just walking in from the street. Most of our clients have been coming to us for years or heard about us from a friend who liked our work. The space is filled with sewing machines and rolls of different fabrics from various markets. There’s always the sound of stitching in the background while we work. We spend a lot of time measuring and cutting carefully. It’s a small team here, just a few of us. We aren't like those big shops in the mall. We take our time with each piece to make sure it’s right. Andheri is always moving fast and loud, but inside our workshop, things are a bit more focused and calm. We deal with a lot of embroidery and fine details that you simply can't rush through if you want it to look decent. Sometimes we have tea together in the late afternoon when the main work is finally done for the day. It’s a quiet life in an office building. We don’t have a big neon sign outside, just our name on the door. People come here when they want something specific made for a wedding or a special day. We just do our best with the fabric.
