Shailesh Shridhar Shetye

I work out of Flat 2 on Plot 258, which is along Paranjape Wadi Road in Matunga West. The building is known as Ideal Home. My name is Shailesh Shridhar Shetye, and I’ve lived and worked in this area for many years. Using a flat as an office makes things feel a bit more personal and less formal. The room I use is at the front of the flat, and it has enough space for my desk and a few chairs for when people visit. Matunga West is a great neighborhood with lots of old trees and a bit of a traditional feel to it. You can often smell food cooking from the neighboring flats, which is always nice around lunchtime. My setup is very basic. I have a computer, a phone, and stacks of paper that I’m always trying to organize. I don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a calendar and maybe a clock that’s a few minutes fast. It gets a bit noisy when the kids are playing outside in the compound, but I don’t mind it much. I like the feeling of being part of a community rather than being in a sterile office building. Most of my work involves sitting and typing or talking to people on the phone. I take breaks to walk down the road and get some tea from the corner stall. It's a steady way of living, and I've got no complaints about how things are going here at Ideal Home.
