Shaif Electric & Hardware

Shaif Electric & Hardware is located at No-5 Mazgaon 133, right on Mathar Pakhadi Road. It is usually a bit of a mess inside because we have so many different types of switches and wires piled up on the shelves. My father started this place years ago and now I handle the daily stuff myself. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the front door wide open to catch any breeze. Most people come in looking for a specific bolt or a lightbulb that doesn't flicker. We don't have fancy glass displays or anything like that. Just wooden shelves full of metal and plastic parts. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk to the neighbors about the weather or the news. Other times, three people want different things at once and it’s a bit chaotic behind the counter. Mazgaon has changed a lot lately, but this corner stays mostly the same. I spend a lot of time untangling cables or looking for a box of washers someone hid under the table last week. It’s not an easy job but it keeps us busy. We mostly just know everyone around here by their faces. If the lights go out in a nearby flat, they usually come knocking. Sometimes we have what they need in stock, and sometimes we have to tell them to come back tomorrow. That’s just how it goes here. We don't do any big advertising, just have the sign out front and hope it stays up.
